SaltCells.com was a "start from scratch" project. The site was running an older snapshot of osCommerce, and desperately needed updating. The second order of business was to address volume pricing. With the Separate Pricing Per Customer contribution, the store owner can designate customer groups and define different pricing structures per group. An additional customer specific discount has been installed for higher volume customers. This discount is compounded with the customer's group discount for an even greater savings.
Custom designed for SaltCells.com by osWebDesigns, the site boasts an exclusive feature that allows customers to shop for parts using schematics. Simply put, this feature was integrated seamlessly into osCommerce for customers to pull up their product's schematic and point to a part on the image. When a user hovers over a part, a dynamic tooltip displays the individual product information, as well as a link to add the product to their cart. This customization is sure to pay for itself in short order.
